Bike/Pedestrian Tunnel
2009-03-27
I mentioned it in yesterday's photo and sure enough I went on a bike ride along the ocean. This photo was taken at the beginning of the ride in the tunnel that goes under PCH at Channel Road. I guess there's too much traffic there to have a pesky crosswalk. I used spot metering to get the exposure like this. I post I did a tiny bit of cropping and upped the saturation quite a bit to get the strong yellows and blues.
The first half of ride was really fun, but I went too, too far and really struggled on the way back. I rode all the way to Redondo Beach and back, which ended up being 47 miles. I've ridden that far several times before, but it's been years...

on March 30, 2009This is a fantastic shot! And good job with the 47 miles--I am an avid cyclist myself, but the bike, sadly, is stored away until the weather warms up here in the northeast.
