Yosemite Slide
2011-11-15 I decided to go through some of my mom's dad's slides that I inherited after he passed away a couple years ago. Apparently they took a trip to Yosemite in October of 1952, just over 59 years ago - before my mom was even born. Many of you will recognize this slide as Tunnel View, although the scene is flipped so I could photograph the side of the slide that said 'Kodachrome'. Nearly everyone that visits Yosemite probably took a photo like this. I know I did. I actually didn't spend much time looking through slides, although this one certainly caught my eye. Mostly, I was figuring out how to put together the Viewlex Change-O-Matic slide projector. I'm a little afraid to plug it in for fear of the 50-year-old 300-watt bulb exploding, but I'll get around to it. Expect to hear more about that eventually - I can get at least another daily photo or two out of it. [last year]
