Gran Mano

2012-02-24 Thanks to Russell, I've gotten to take photos of some pretty cool things from the library, such as these antique glass eyes and this first edition Origin of the Species. Today, I photographed him, as part of my Environmental Portraiture class. It was a lot of fun, and he pulled out other gems like a container for leeches, a super-old German manuscript with fantastic color drawings of injuries, and a book that went on the space shuttle. This giant hand was an advertisement for Untisal, a company that isn't around anymore. The bottle says 'Contra-Dolor', which means 'against pain'. So basically, a pain reliever. Way cooler swag than, say, a Pfizer pen. [last year] that time of year again...
