Natural Habitat
2012-02-19 Today we went whale watching in Long Beach. We saw none. NONE! We did see a lot of dolphins, however, and this trio of sea lions basking on a buoy. Back on shore, the announcer kept telling the next group that they might "see California sea lions in their natural habitat!". Not exactly. I was pretty unimpressed with the crew's way of dealing with no sightings - they just played it off like it was a wonderful trip because "we saw a lot of dolphins, which are actually a type of whale!" The hell with that - I didn't pay $60 to see common dolphins. At the very least, a discount on a future trip would have been nice. It was fun, though, and we had a nice relaxing lunch afterwards. And then we went to IKEA, for no reason at all. We'd never been before, and it was crazy!!! We have not planned a return trip at this time... [last year]
