Shallow Water

2011-08-10 Africa Trip, Day 10 Today we went snorkeling near Wimbi Beach in Pemba, which was a lot of fun. We took a boat out and saw awesome starfish, puffer fish, an eel, a family of clownfish and many other cool things. The owner of the dive shop  is a South African named Pieter and in the afternoon we went and ate at his restaurant which is appropriately called Pieter's Place. The tables surrounded a massive baobab tree that we got to climb up in. It was cool.  This photo was taken as we were waiting to board the boat. It's interesting that the locals cruise the shore in just a few inches of water.  [last year]
