Botanical Building
2013-01-22
Today was my first solo day in San Diego, and I spent it in Balboa Park. I spent about 9 hours there and I'm exhausted, but I had such a great time! I visited the Japanese garden, the cactus garden, the natural history museum, the botanical building, and the museum of photographic arts. Surprisingly, the MOPA was by far my least favorite. The best was the Japanese garden, thanks to a personalized tour from docent-extraordinaire Harold. I also walked around the grounds and took many, many photos, including some pretty cool night shots. Stay tuned for those.
This shot is from inside the botanical building, a massive lath structure built nearly 100 years ago. It houses over 2100 plants, including some carnivorous ones!
