We made it over to LACMA today and saw the completed Levitated Mass sculpture! It was really fun, since we we able to see the rock in transit. As we were there, a guy walked by on the street and said "is that art? it's a f***ing rock!". It's a rock like the Grand Canyon is a hole in the ground. A true statement, technically, but it misses the point.
This photo is obviously a much smaller rock, and I took it because I liked this rail surrounding the actual rock. It was the middle of the day, so conditions were not very good to take a photo of the big rock. Perhaps another time. This photo is looking west, so the big rock is on the left, but not in the frame.
