Cape Griffon Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre Although I had to shoot through a cage, I'm happy with how this photo turned out. These birds only live on cliffs in South Africa and have serious habitat loss issues. Many of the birds we saw are unable to fly, but the ones that are usually get released back into the wild. There were some vultures in a cage next to this one that were known as the can openers of the bush - because they can rip through any animal hide, including elephants. The cape griffon can't do that, but still - that's one hell of a beak.
