African Wild Dog Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre The African wild dogs were the first stop on our no-fences tour. We drove right into their pen and got to see them eat while our guide told us about them. These splotchy, yet beautiful animals got a really bad rap, and so they need protection today. They were classified as 'vermin' and so people would shoot them on sight. Thanks to that ignorant way of thinking, they are endangered, but they're fascinating.
