Wavy Lamp
2011-05-07 Today was an incredibly relaxing day - it was like we were on vacation. We topped it off by walking down to Pinkberry for dessert. This is the inside of one of their lamps, I simply stuck the lens of my S95 inside and pressed the shutter. I converted to B&W and added contrast in Lightroom. [last year]

Grabbed this shot in the library. I like the symmetry of the chairs with the messiness of the shelves. Most of the shelves are much more homogeneous than this one.

Today's desperation shot features a little Lego man standing over the F3 button of my keyboard. On my Mac, it brings up the dashboard. Isn't that fascinating?
I took it with my S95 and I got the low angle lighting by... wait for it... turning the camera upside down! Also fascinating.
Stay tuned for tomorrow's shot, I hope to set up my fifth and final (for now, anyways) water drop photo! And if that isn't fascinating then, well, I just give up.

Tonight I went on a walk around the neighborhood in search of a photo of the day. I first settled on a curved bench, but then decided this was much cooler and switched it after it was already uploaded, which I rarely do. I have no idea what this flower is, but it's about 6 inches across. I got the effect by raising the blacks slider to 100 to get rid of the surrounding green leaves, and then doing touch up from there.

Although I love how quiet campus is after finals, it comes at a price. I had to wait nearly 5 minutes for someone to walk by on the lower level of this building. Daily photos are hard work!
I've actually photographed this staircase before, but from below, back on <a href="http://www.jawsnap.net/Daily/year2/7157835_BfJPF#790331724_GkuTv">2/16/10</a>. This time I burned a few calories and walked up to the top. I set my Canon S95 to 1/125 of a second so I could capture the shape of someone walking without it being too blurry. There's a bit of noise in the photo, but I don't think it really takes away from it. There was very little color to begin with, so I converted to B&W.

Today I ate lunch in the same spot as <a href="http://www.jawsnap.net/Daily/year3/11272102_ACXDJ#1164066142_GTGn5">last Friday</a> and guess what - the leaf was still there! So, I took some more photos of it. I quite like this creepy one.
