Big Bear | Nov 2012
Our annual Thanksgiving/Anniversary trip this year was to Big Bear Lake, about 2 ½ hours away in the San Bernardino Mountains. It was a pretty low-key trip, with no big hikes or major sight-seeing. It was fun to be in the mountains, and I had a lot of fun taking photos of the lake at sunrise and sunset.
As usual, everything is geotagged, so click Map This to see exactly where all of this stuff was.

Boulder Bay A picturesque pair of islands in the lake. We stopped here when we first arrived, and one of the first things we saw was a woman with tons of makeup all decked out in weird fashion clothing with a tiny dog in similar clothing, chatting on her phone. Apparently it takes more than a windy mountain road to get away from Los Angeles. Regardless of that, there was a nice little park where you can admire the pretty boulders.
