3 remarkably cold days in New Orleans. Took a plantation tour, did a lot of walking around the Central Business District and French Quarter, ate lots of Southern cooking and only did a modest amount of drinking. I swear!

Spanish Moss Audubon Park We learned in out plantation tour that it used to be used in mattresses. After a night's sleep, a slave would be tasked with flattening the mattress back out, a process that took up to an hour of beating it with a rolling pin.
