So my lovely wife got some roses at work today, but one of them decided to 'shed' all its petals for some reason. I figured I should do some sort of daily photo using these petals, so this is what I came up with. Thanks, of course, to my wife for being a hand model.
The final setup involved my wife on the ground with her hands above her head, the camera on a tripod behind her, remote flash pointed at the wall (to blow out the background) and me pouring the petals while hitting my remote trigger. I only got the timing right about half the time.
I ended up doing a lot of post work to bring out the color of the petals, since they happened to be relatively close in color to my wife's skin tone.
[last year] fyi, water is toxic to your skin...
