Pearce Ruins
2009-12-23 I did some more exploring today, this time heading East from Tucson and eventually ending up at Pearce, which had 1500 people in 1920 and 15 in 2000. I had originally planned on visiting several ghost towns but didn't have the time or a proper vehicle to drive on "primitive" roads. I had a great time though, seeing some interesting and beautiful parts of the state that I'm not very familiar with. Many areas I drove through had snow from last night's storm. This particular ruin was just a small room - maybe it was a shed? As you can see, a good portion was missing, and the rest will probably collapse soon enough. I used fill flash so the inside of the room wasn't all black. [last year]
