Watch Out for Waves
2011-06-11 This was taken at Huntington Beach, where we met some friends for a lovely bonfire on the beach. Around sunset I excused myself to go walk down to the water with my rented Nikkor 300mm f/4. I'm planning on going to the zoo with it tomorrow, to really put it through its paces. I'm pretty impressed with this lens so far, although it might be too heavy for travel so I'm going to rent the 70-300mm to compare. In this shot, the Huntington Beach Pier is over a mile away. See the shipping cranes in the distance? I didn't notice them at all when I took the photo; they're over 10 miles away. [last year]

on June 12, 2011Very nice color and I like how you captured the people and action. It's pretty amazing that the pier is over a mile away and then the cranes, wow.

on June 12, 2011This has some great colors in it, and I like the fun action on the right of the frame as well.
